I told you I'd do an extra make up post for the one I missed, so here it is! I just found this! It's adorable and I love it!

I really like this not only because it's cute (which, it IS cute), but also because I am a very musical person. My mom actually has a Masters in Music Education, and she has always sung and played the piano. When she was still in school, she would be in musicals and operas at the college she attended. I got to be in some with her! And for classes, she sometimes brought home different instruments and my sister and I would try (and most of the time fail) to play them. As I've grown older, I depend a lot on music to help me calm down, or to focus, or to provide common interests with a person I have just met. I find that I like to sing, it makes me happy! I also like to play piano, but I'm only learning. One more thing I like to do is dance to music. If I'm at home alone, sometimes I turn on the music station and just start dancing. I've never had formal training for dance, but I enjoy that because I don't have to follow any rules and I can dance as freely as I want. Within the past year, I found VOCALOID for the first time and one of the songs I liked had a dance to it, so I learned the dance, and it's really fun! Being able to do a dance like that is addicting, so I've been learning more dances. I also started choreographing dances to other songs. Something about the music just gets to my heart and I want to be able to show my feelings. Weather it be through singing or dancing or playing the piano, one day I'll be able to show the feelings and emotions that I feel when I hear music. And someday, I may put a link to one of my dances or songs on this blog.

... sorry, I got a little carried away there! ^-^;

Anyways, I wanted to share the cuteness! Sorry there's no Japanese really in this post!!! On Monday there will be Japanese! Thanks for reading! I appreciate it very much!

Hallo!

。。(ano, kyou...) Um, well, I don't know what to write about today...

Ah! I can tell you what I learned this week! (I feel so smart! XD)

This week, I learned that to say something like "friend's name" as in "Your friend's name..." you would put a の (no) in between the words. の(no) is like... well, in the sentence ともだちのなまえはなんですか。(tomodachi no namae wa nan desu ka?), the の(no) shows that the なまえ(namae) belongs to the とまだち(tomodachi). By the way, if you didn't already know, ともだち(tomodachi) means friend. (that was one of the words I learned this week.) So, to conclude, の(no) links the object(in the example, namae) to the subject(in the example, tomodachi) or something like that.

Here's a better, simpler way to explain. This is from the site I've been using this week to help me learn:

の - Particle. acts like 's in English - whatever comes after it belongs in some way to whatever comes before it.
tomodachi no namae - friend's name
watashi no sensei - my teacher
nihongo no sensei - a teacher of Japanese

The site where that is from is Kids Web Japan! It's made for kids, but when we are learning a new language, we are all children in that language. The same goes for everything we learn or study or try. We will always start out as children.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed that! I had fun typing that to share actually! XD

As always, thank you very much!!! I'll try to get my extra missed post in sometime soon. You never know, I might find something interesting, or maybe completely random!!! We'll see!

(konbanwa)

(kyou wa getsuyoubi desu) I'm beginning to realize that I tend to say the same things in にほんご (nihongo) all the time... that's no fun!!! I must learn more so that I can speak more!!!

Today's post is going to be whatever pops into my head. It has absolutely nothing structure-wise.

(ongaku ga daisuki desu!)

Student: I don't understand the lesson!
Teacher: Ah. In this case, you say 「わかりません」(wakari masen).
Student: What does THAT mean?
Teacher: "I don't understand"
Student: How can you not understand!

あの。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。(ano)

I have nothing to talk about today!!! :o

So, I'll leave this for now... I don't want to draw out my lack of topics for too long... Ah, but I just thought of this! ........... no, that's a bad idea.

Anyways, ありがとうございます!(arigatou gozaimasu) Thanks much for your time! Until later then, あばよ!(abayo)

Hello there! わたしわ (watashi wa) posting again today! (oi, that sentense made no sense... ごめんなさい (gomen nasai)!!!)I was going to talk about 「でわありません」 ("dewa arimasen") and other forms of です (desu), but something even better to talk about came up!

One of my friends taught me how to switch my keyboard back and forth between English and にほんご (nihongo)!!! This makes adding in the ひらがな (hiragana) so much easier for me!!! It's fun!!!

(sa!) I only recently understood how to use 「でわありません」 ("dewa arimasen"), but I will try to explain to you about it. There are different tenses of です (desu). です (desu) is the present positive form. It's like saying "is" or "am" or something. There are past tense forms of です (desu) as well as negative forms.

です (desu)- present positive form. "is"
でした (deshita)- past positive form. "was"
"wasn't"

The examples that I gave in quotations are not exact because です (desu) does not really have a set meaning, it can be used to say many things. I don't know if that made sense, I'm not really good at explaining...

So lately, I like adding ではありません (dewa arimasen) to sentenses. It's my new favorite word/words. (words? XP) I'll just randomly think of some silly sentense like 「ほんわどうぶつでわありません」("hon wa doubutsu dewa arimasen"). It's fun to make sentences with! XD

さあ!(sa!) Anyways, this is how I learned the forms of です (desu). I hope it helps some. By the way, if I have made any mistakes, TELL ME SO I CAN CORRECT MYSELF!!!

Thanks once again for reading my randomness! さようなら (sayounara) for now!

Testing, Sister, and Random stuff

(konnichiwa!) Hello again everyone! I made it through one of the hottest weeks of my life!!! Yay!

So, a friend of mine is learning Korean. She is doing much better than I am at にほんご (nihongo), so I feel kinda bad... But we came up with an idea together for a way that we can help each other with the vocabulary of each language, so I hope that we can pull it off! It will kind of be like giving tests to each other, we just won't grade the best most likely... Anyways, it will be a lot of fun! And I'm looking forward to the practice as well as the fun!

This month, my sister will be coming to visit me! I mentioned that my sister had originally influenced me to learn にほんご (nihongo) in my first post, A New Chapter. Well, my sister knows that I am trying to learn it again and she told me that I will have to practice with her and help her learn as well! I will be going into にほんご (nihongo) learning mode! My sister let me send her some words to practice for when she gets here, so I sent her some colors:
しろい (shiroi), くろい (kuroi), あおい (aoi), あかい (akai), みどり (midori), ちやいろ (chairo), きいろ (kiiro), オレンジいろ (orenji iro), はいいろ (haiiro), and ピンク (pinku). In order, those are white, black, blue, red, green, brown, yellow, orange, gray, and pink. The way I learned to write orange and pink used Katakana instead of Hiragana, and I'm not sure why... I should look it up. I was practicing them when she was talking to me, so I just gave those too her.

I have been trying to make sentences that make sense rather than just throwing around random words lately. But most of them still sound very childish and incomplete... I know that I can't have full conversations in にほんご (nihongo) yet, but I really want to speak more than ねこわどうぶつです (neko wa doubutsu desu) and きようわきんようびです (kyou wa kin'youbi desu) and ほんわどうぶつではありません (hon wa doubutsu dewa arimasen). I am very impatient I guess...

Anyways, I have a lot of things to do today, not to mention it's lunch time! (arigatou gozaimasu!) Thank you for reading! I hope to improve, so feel free to tell me if I've made mistakes! Advise and encouragement is welcome! さようなら (sayounara) for now!

Happy Fourth!

Due to today's date, many Americans take this day to celebrate. I am one of those who will take today to celebrate American Independence, so please forgive the lack of Japanese again... Happy Fourth of July!

On a side note, I really dislike hot weather. It causes the biggest lack of motivation in me, so I will be trying to work on my Japanese this week, but unless it cools down where I live, the chances are high for another non-Japanese post... D: I don't want that!!! DX Winter hurry it up already!!!

Anyways, happy Fourth of July and sayounara for now!!!

Random

Today will not be a Japanese post.

So, today was my last day visiting my brother in Seattle. I had so much fun! We went to downtown Seattle and took a tour of underground Seattle!!! So much fun! I may do an extra post sometime this weekend with details about it. So, after that, we went to a place that sells Japanese style crepes! They're amazing!!! And they sold bubble tea there too, but I chickened out and got a melon slushie instead. I'm to scared to try the bobas!!!

We came home and my brother made the amazing semi-fettuccine alfredo deliciousness (my fav thing that he makes) for dinner. Then we watched a Korean gaming tournament for a little while and then I've been packing to go home sense then.

I'm sad to go because I love it here. So I will come back sometime and enjoy it again. That's all I have I guess. My flight leaves tomorrow... So I will definitely post on Monday!!! Bye!!!
